It is against the above backdrop that, here at Tenison Woods Catholic School, celebrating an Italian Day has become a biennial event. It is an opportunity to celebrate all things Italian - Language, Culture, History, Arts, Inventions, Cuisine, and so much more, reflected in the activities in which the students will participate on the day. An air of festivity abounds throughout the day!
This year marks an important year in Italy’s calendar, as they celebrate the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci. May 2 marked 500 years since his death and the world has truly been blessed by this great man - artista, ingegnere, architetto, musicista, studioso di ottica,, idraulica, anatomia, geologia, a man like no other during the Renaissance Period. We will also be joining many Italians around the world celebrating this truly gifted human being!
