Our 2025–2027 Whole School Wellbeing Strategy was co-designed by students, staff, parents and leadership. It ensures wellbeing is embedded in every part of school life — from classrooms to leadership to family partnerships.
At Tenison Woods Catholic School in Richmond, South Australia, education goes beyond books and lessons. It's about the relationships we build, the values we live by, and the experiences that shape who we are. Life at TWCS is joyful, welcoming and grounded in kindness, courage and connection.
Every child known, every family valued.
We are a small, close-knit school where relationships matter. Students are known by name, families feel seen and supported, and everyone is encouraged to be their full self. We embrace diversity, celebrate culture, and create a space where children feel safe to grow, explore and thrive.
Supporting the whole child — every day, in every way.
At Tenison Woods Catholic School, wellbeing isn’t just something we do — it’s how we do school. It runs through every part of the day, helping children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
It’s not an extra — it’s part of our culture, our classrooms, and our community.
From whole-school strategies to student voice, staff support and family partnerships, here’s how wellbeing comes to life at TWCS:
Our 2025–2027 Whole School Wellbeing Strategy was co-designed by students, staff, parents and leadership. It ensures wellbeing is embedded in every part of school life — from classrooms to leadership to family partnerships.
At TWCS, students are active participants in their own wellbeing. Through Action Leadership Teams, student-designed wellbeing spaces, character strength surveys and buddy programs, every child has a voice in creating a safe, supportive environment.
Supporting students begins with supporting staff. Our team engages in ongoing, wellbeing-focused professional development, including Mental Health First Aid, the ALIVE Framework, and programs like BUZZ and Grow Your Mind.
Families play a vital role in our whole-school approach. We offer Positive Education sessions for parents, resilience and cyber safety workshops, and regular coffee catch-ups. Parents are also invited to be part of our Wellbeing Days throughout the year.
We believe education works best when families and schools grow together. In addition to wellbeing initiatives, we offer a range of learning opportunities for parents and carers throughout the year — helping you feel confident and supported in your child’s learning journey.
Topics include:
Positive Parenting Sessions
Tips, tools and strategies to strengthen your connection with your child and support their emotional development.
Helping with Literacy & Numeracy
Practical ways to support your child’s learning at home — including reading routines, number sense and problem-solving skills.
Volunteering is a great way for parents, carers and grandparents to connect, contribute and be part of everyday school life. From classroom support and excursions to helping at events, there are lots of ways to get involved.
To volunteer at school, you’ll need to:
Faith in action, shaped by community.
We share a strong and active partnership with St Aloysius Catholic Church, located next door. Students take part in liturgies, sacraments and special Masses that deepen their connection to faith and community.
Our Parish Priest is a regular and valued presence, supporting the spiritual life of our school.
Service, justice and kindness in action.
We proudly support local charities, social justice initiatives and community fundraisers throughout the year.
Students are encouraged to look beyond themselves — to act with compassion, stand up for others, and understand that even small acts can make a big difference.
Playgroup at TWCS
Our weekly Playgroup is open to all families with children aged 0–5 — a relaxed and welcoming way to ease into school life, meet others, and feel at home in our community.

From an early age, students are encouraged to lead, contribute, and take pride in their school community.

Care that fits your family’s routine.

It’s a natural extension of school life, where children are supported to play, rest, create and connect in a safe and familiar environment.
We offer care throughout the week to help busy families manage routines with confidence:
Children can be dropped off or picked up directly from the OSHC space, and staff ensure a smooth transition to and from the classroom.
